When Rocco first joined the Worksop Junior Darts Academy, he came with nothing more than a new-found interest in darts, enthusiasm to learn, and a determination to improve. He joined right at the very beginning when the academy first opened, starting as a complete beginner with no previous experience of playing darts.
Over the past year, Rocco has shown fantastic commitment through regular practice, coaching, and a willingness to learn. With the guidance and support provided by the academy, his progress has been remarkable. What started as an average score of around 20 has now developed into consistent averages of 35–45, showing just how far he has come in a relatively short time.
Rocco’s improvement has also been recognised through his progression into the Premier League, a milestone that reflects both his hard work and growing confidence as a player. He is currently working towards achieving his Green level in JDC, while continuing to focus on key areas of his game such as improving his doubles, increasing his scoring power, and building confidence in checking out on higher finishes.
What makes Worksop JDC Academy so special is the environment it provides. The academy is run with genuine passion, encouragement, and positivity. Jason and the wider support team are dedicated to creating opportunities for young people to develop not only as darts players, but as individuals. Their commitment ensures children like Rocco—and all those who attend—can be part of a friendly, welcoming, and supportive community united by a shared love of darts.
For Rocco, the academy has been about much more than just improving scores. It has given him confidence, motivation, friendships, and a place where he can enjoy learning and competing in a positive atmosphere. His journey so far is a great example of what can be achieved with the right support, coaching, and encouragement.
